The N36 Blue Air Sander is an entry-level, professional-grade 5-inch pneumatic random orbital sander engineered for high-performance surface preparation. Driven by compressed air at a standard working pressure of 90 PSI, its internal air motor achieves free speeds ranging between 10,000 and 12,000 RPM while consuming approximately 4 CFM of air. The tool utilizes a unique dual-action mechanism that combines simultaneous rotation and orbital oscillation. This random, wobbly movement prevents the abrasive from following an identical path twice, effectively eliminating ugly swirl marks and heat buildup on the workpiece. It features a lightweight, 950-gram aluminum body with an ergonomic palm-grip housing to reduce user fatigue during prolonged use, alongside a built-in speed governor that lets operators regulate airflow directly at the tool's 1/4" NPT inlet. Equipped with a convenient hook-and-loop (Velcro) backing pad, the non-vacuum N36 is exceptionally nimble around tight curves and vehicle body lines, making it a staple in automotive body shops for smoothing filler and feather-edging primers. It is equally proficient in woodworking and fabrication shops for flat-surface wood leveling, rust removal, and paint scuffing. To ensure long-term durability and prevent internal rust, the tool requires a clean, filtered air supply and 2 to 3 drops of pneumatic tool oil added directly into the air inlet before each operational cycle.
